Toshifumi Yoshida

Image

Toshi has spent more than half of his life reading comic books and watching cartoons for a living. His career in the industry now spans three decades and includes work across anime production, localization, and manga translation. He began his career working on the anime magazine ANIMAG, then spent 12 years producing anime at Viz Media, followed by two years as a producer at Bandai Entertainment. Along the way, he has also translated manga professionally.

Toshi’s credits include producing the English-language versions of the original Ranma ½, Inuyasha, and Gurren Lagann, as well as translating manga for Dark Horse Comics’ The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service. He is currently the Animation Localization Manager at The Pokémon Company International, a role he has held for the past 16 years. In this position, he oversees the localization of Pokémon television series, movies, and specials into English. He is currently working on Pokémon Horizons, whose third season launched on Netflix earlier this year.

Toshi has been attending Animazement on and off since 1999 and is happy to be back at the convention. He is looking forward to spending time with everyone again this year. Toshi apologizes for using the same bio that he updates yearly for this convention.
