This note comes a day later than planned, and we’re not ashamed to say it’s because of a lengthy and unplanned nap on Monday. While we’re all tired, it’s the best kind of tired. The kind that comes after a weekend full of fun, friends, and the kind of positive energy that can only come from being together at Animazement.
Our guests often say how much they enjoy coming here to Raleigh because of the warmth, kindness, and sincere sense of welcoming you find at our convention, and we, the staff, feel the same way. Even on a weekend full of rain (and rain… and more rain) you remained positive and kind, and that’s what keeps us all coming back year after year.
We welcomed attendees from 44 different states this past weekend, and even some from Canada and Mexico. That’s a humbling feeling for what still feels, to us, like a little, local convention in so many ways. Many of our staff started out twenty years ago as attendees of this convention, and it warms our hearts to watch Animazement continue to grow and become a home both to people in our local community and to visitors from far away.
We want to extend a huge thank you to our volunteer staff and our AZ Bees, without whom this event could not happen. We see the hard work each and every one of you put in, and we value each of your contributions.
And, of course, we want to thank you, our attendees. We welcomed 12,877 of you this weekend, many of whom stood in line in the rain to join us! We are so grateful for everyone who chose to spend their weekend here in Raleigh with us!
If you haven’t yet, please take a moment to fill out our feedback form so that we can make next year even better!
