Animazement 2020 – Cancellation of RCC Events

To the Animazement Community:

First and foremost – we would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding through this situation.

As many of you have been following our updates, you know that we’ve been working to monitor this situation very closely. On Monday, Executive Order 120 was issued that closed public schools and banned mass gatherings over 50 people through May 15th, one week out from Animazement. On March 24, 2020, we received formal notice that the City of Raleigh has mandated that the Raleigh Convention Center will be closed to the public through May 31st. As such, Animazement will not be happening May 22nd – 24th, 2020.

We are still exploring all our options – We are uncertain of whether we will be canceling the convention this year or postponing to a later date. We are coordinating with all respective parties to see what will be feasible and evaluating all possible alternatives.

As mentioned before, all current convention registrations will be automatically rolled over to our next convention date (whether that be later this year or next year). We are still offering refunds for those who would like to request them – we ask that you please fill out this form for a faster ease of processing refunds (This form should be used for attendees and dealers only. If you are an Artist Alley registrant – please initiate the refund process through Eventbrite – Thank you). Attendees should contact hotels directly to cancel any hotel reservations.

Additionally – we will be updating our website with information for our dealers and artist shortly. We ask that if you can, please support our dealers and artists at this time. Many of these vendors’ livelihoods are spent traveling the country to various conventions, and the number of forced cancellations may really be hurting them. Please continue to support them to the best of your ability.

We will continue to update you once we have more information. We wish to thank you all for your support, patience, and understanding while navigating this difficult situation.

Be safe and may you all stay healthy.
