18+ Wristbands

There are certain events at Animazement designated as 18+. Attendees planning to go to these events must be at least 18 years old and obtain a wristband from the wristband booth PRIOR to the event. Picture identification is required to obtain your wristband. We will NOT check identification at the door – no bracelet, no admittance.

The 18+ wristband & prop/weapons booth will be open during the following days and times during the convention:
Thursday 7 PM – 10 PM
Friday 12 PM – 4 PM and 6 PM – 11 PM
Saturday 12 PM – 4 PM and 6 PM – 11 PM
Sunday 12 PM – 3 PM

Props and Weapons Check

Anyone who has a weapon or prop that could possibly viewed as dangerous (even a little bit) needs to visit the Weapon/Prop Check-In to have it approved and tagged. This means that you allow us to inspect and handle your weapon/prop; and, if approved, allow us to put a bright-colored plastic tie on your “weapon” indicating that it has been judged relatively harmless and/or is being bound into a holder of some sort that renders it so. These ties can only be removed by cutting them, making it obvious if tampering should occur; Security will deal with repeated offenses accordingly, up to and including ejection from the convention without refund.

Any weapons that are not approved and/or cannot be peace bound will not be allowed to enter the convention. You will need to take it back to your hotel or vehicle. Each item will be judged individually.

FUNimation

You read it here first! And you will see it at Animazement…first! We are excited to announce that FUNimation is premiering a new title at Animazement 2012! Stay tuned for more details.

Be sure to visit the FUNimation booth in the Dealers Room, and attend their panels, to find out about the latest releases. In addition, we will be showing several FUNimation titles in the video rooms, so you can watch the anime you already know and love on the big screen.

Director Noboru Ishiguro

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Director Noboru Ishiguro on March 20, 2012.
Director Ishiguro was one of the pioneers of the first anime boom in Japan. He directed some of the greatest anime titles including Battleship Yamato, The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Magazone 23, Legend of the Galactic Heroes and Tytania. In addition, he founded his own studio, Artland.
His passing is very sad news for all of the anime fans in the world, including those of us involved with Animazement. Director Ishiguro’s talent, vision, and passion for anime will live forever in his work.
